Luwten describes her blueprint as a personal trinity: the minimalism of composers like Floating Points, the experimental songwriting of artists like Solange, and the groundbreaking productions of acts like Bon Iver.Following her critically acclaimed self-titled debut in 2017, Luwten released her second album Draft in 2021. The single Control premiered on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 on Apple Music. Draft was awarded the 3voor12 Award for Best Dutch Album that year.Between albums, Douwstra typically finds herself in exploratory phases with room for collaborations, life and new ideas. She collaborated on releases with Cero Ismael, De Staat, Klangstof, Pitou and Naaz; created performances with Binkbeats, B.O.X. Baroque Ensemble and jazz saxophonist Kika Sprangers; and composed for an installation at the Centraal Museum. Luwten toured the Netherlands, Belgium, France, the United Kingdom and Germany and supported acts including Men I Trust and Sophie Hunger.
